About
I build products that solve real-world problems with speed, precision, and a commitment to quality. My career began in mechanical engineering, where I focused on complex challenges such as structural optimisation, tyre design, and load sensing. Early in my journey, I created custom data loggers to measure real-world forces on critical systems. This led me to explore electronics, firmware, and connected technologies, progressively expanding my capabilities across multiple engineering domains. Today, I lead two companies: Cranio, a platform for scalable embedded systems, and Element Engineering, a multidisciplinary product development and manufacturing firm. At Element, we integrate advanced CAD and FEA, mechanical and electronic design, firmware development, and user-facing digital systems to support the full product lifecycle. Our in-house manufacturing capability enables us to move from concept to production quickly and with full control over quality. This hands-on, vertically integrated model underpins my broader vision for distributed, automated local manufacturing. I believe in creating modular, replicable production systems that can be deployed wherever they are needed. This approach not only reduces reliance on offshore manufacturing but also strengthens sovereign capability and supports regional innovation. My current focus lies in advanced sensing and automation for industrial sectors, particularly mining and oil and gas. Through Cranio, we are enabling a new generation of smart devices that can be built and deployed without requiring specialised firmware development or custom electronics. This allows engineers and operators to focus on outcomes rather than infrastructure, accelerating innovation while reducing duplicated effort. I am passionate about helping great ideas become market-ready technologies. My primary role at Element Engineering Australia is to work closely with clients to help them solve problems and create industry leading value within their businesses. My diverse engineering and hands on experience allows me to quickly understand client technical problems and provide industry leading solutions. I help clients scope changes to their business's products or services at a high level, by understanding and harnessing technologies available. Once a profitable and achievable high level scope of the business problem has been completed, if required, I pass on detailed engineering roles to EEA's very capable and diverse engineering team. I then often assume a project management role liaising closely with the client and the engineering team to ensure the goals are met within time and budget. I do still get my hands dirty within my specialty areas. Day to day, I also assume a leadership role, coordinating a growing team of professionals skilled in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electronic and Software Engineering, along with supporting management staff.

Mechanical Engineer
Design and optimization of all aspects of the DT HiLoad body for various haul pac trucks. My duties at DT Hiload range from implementing the new Solidworks based CAD system, designing a fully scalable Solidworks model used to quickly produce new body designs tailored to a mines specific requirements, undertaking all engineering analysis for the Safety Up Devices as specified by ISO:13333-1994 and the design optimisation of various new products for heavy industry.

Mechanical Engineering
Honors thesis undertaken on the design optimisation of an Ultra Large Class Bias Ply Tyre for use on haul-pac trucks. Intensive use of Solidworks for modelling and ABAQUS non-linear FEA for design optimization. Successfully designed an optimized an ultra large class OTR tyre for COBA Tyre. UWA Motorsport Race Engineer from 2007-2009. During my time as race engineer, I was part of the World Championship winning FSAE team at the FISITA World Championships in Detroit.
