Upon scoring well on a legal writing grammar and editing assessment, I was selected as a BriefCatch Intern. This was an incredible opportunity to work with legal writing guru Ross Guberman, creator of the first-of-its-kind editing plug-in BriefCatch.com. My assignments involved researching and coding specific examples of legal editing rules for integration into BriefCatch software.

•Prepared motion for summary judgment representing employer defendant in negligence case •Authored white paper on admissibility of electronically stored evidence •Evaluated whether court could include prior overt acts of defendant physician accused of violating Stark Law •Updated case law in appellate brief in a reverse corporate veil piercing case •Researched and updated 50 state survey of post-Covid laws regulating telehealth industry clients

•Composed memorandum on a proposed landfill’s potential to violate Texas’s anti-degradation policy and delivered public comments in connection with lobbying efforts to ban landfill introduction •Analyzed opportunities for judicial review for EPA’s non-response to petition requesting revocation of Texas’s permitting authority under the Clean Water Act
