As Financial Operations Manager of the International Television Production division of NBC Universal, my role concerns the management of the quarter end close process and financial operations, including outsourced functions, for the UK production labels and providing accounting and technical support to our overseas production companies. I am also responsible for budgeting and forecasting of overheads for the group and providing reporting on C&B and headcount. Finally, my role also involves supporting the group controller with the management of adhoc projects including acquisitions and systems integrations.

With the Finance Manager of Infrastructure Operations seconded to a role in corporate finance for three months, I was given the opportunity to demonstrate my leadership qualities and in depth knowledge of the business by assuming the vacant role. As the acting Finance Manager of Infrastructure Operations my key responsibilities included: a) Managing the functional unit’s GL close process including the review of all journals and reconciliations. b) Liaising with management to ensure that financial initiatives were translated into actions. c) Coordinating the activities of the Infrastructure Operations finance team to meet both monthly and adhoc deliverables. d) Presenting to the executive team, via a PowerPoint assisted presentation, the financial results for the month, outlook for the future, and the achievement of initiatives.
