As a research associate I am responsible for designing and implementing research plans focused on increasing the representation of women and minorities within engineering environments. I am also responsible for designing and implementing research tools including interview and observation protocols, surveys and code books. In this role I author and co-author peer reviewed conference proceedings, presentations and manuscripts and mentor graduate students.

As a STEM Teaching Evaluator at TIDES I conducted external expert evaluations of faculty members as evidence of their pedagogy for promotion and tenure reviews which also included pre and post observation consulting sessions with individual faculty members. I was also responsible for designing and implementing research tools including interview and observation protocols, surveys and code books. Additionally, in this role I designed and implemented evaluation plans and authored and co-authored peer reviewed conference proceedings, presentations and manuscripts.

As a curriculum director for PlayDNA I created a curriculum that taught data science in hands-on way, through DNA sequencers into the classroom. I also created professional development programs to support this inquiry oriented curriculum.

I delivered best-in-class research, analysis, and design of policy and legislative proposals in 11 states and 10 urban districts

At Vista Ridge High School, I taught on-level and inclusion biology. I was one of a select group of teachers that was asked to open Rouse High School where I taught on-level and PreAP Biology, AIM (achievement increases motivation), on-level chemistry, and AP Environmental Science. During this time I earned my Masters degree at UT Austin and ESL certification through the state of Texas. I was team lead for Biology many years and also served on the RTI (Response To Intervention) committee. I was also a new to profession mentor through the district and student teacher mentor through the UTeach program at both campuses.

As a site coordinator, I supported faculty, staff, and leadership at universities across the country implementing the UTeach program created at the University of Texas at Austin.

As a graduate research assistant, I helped pilot a professional development using the UTeach Observation Protocol (UTOP). My work has helped inform revisions and iterations of the instrument. Putting this instrument in the hands of math and science teachers not only provides a new dimension of viewing classroom instruction but also provide a sense of empowerment.

At Arizona State, I used narrative inquiry to explore how underrepresented groups navigate university engineering affiliated makerspaces and the experiences of community college students into four year university engineering programs. Both of these projects were funded by the National Science Foundation.

As director of education I worked closely with the program and curriculum teams to design and deliver teacher trainings, oversee curriculum development projects and advance EcoRise's online educator’s platform. I also lead school/district recruitment efforts and build strategic partnerships throughout Texas. As a curriculum specialist, I designed and co-constructed curriculum about the environment that is designed to empower a new generation of green leaders. Using the curriculum, students design and implement solutions to decrease their campus'​ environmental impact. Students have described the EcoRise curriculum as "their favorite part of high school"​ and many have described a sense of empowerment and accomplishment upon making their campus a bit "greener". I also assisted in the development of teacher training programs as EcoRise expands its network of teachers and students across the state of Texas.
