I have 17 years of working experience with a variety of UN, INGO and national NGOs in southern Afghanistan. During this time, I have developed, managed and implemented a large number of inter-sectoral humanitarian and development projects. Currently as the Head of Office, I bring a wealth of experience in coordinating and implementing diverse projects across various contexts. My ability to adapt to different cultural, social, and political environments allows me to effectively lead teams, foster partnerships, and drive impactful change. Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for staff in the province and support field coordinators and project managers in the effective management and implementation of their field staff at the regional level. Attend regular/ad hoc ASMT, HRT, UNRT, APR, PDMC and PHCC meetings organized in Kandahar and report to the Security Unit in Kabul. Coordinate all security related incidents, issues with the Security Unit in Kabul and keep informed of all security situation. Provide all IOM staff/Personnel receive appropriate security briefing and/or trainings, and in coordination with the CoM and the Security Unit in Kabul provide guidance to staff as appropriate. Conduct inter-program coordination bi-weekly meeting with program heads in Kandahar. Mentor and observe activities of implementing partners at center and remote areas.

Project Assistant Field Coordinator

Manage 115 direct reports and coordinate all humanitarian partner agencies working in IOM’s transit center facilities in Kandahar province. Acting as overall in-charge and focal point for migration health programming that includes the coordination on procurement of medical supplies and medicines, transportation and relevant issues. Moreover, I do ensure the data collection, reporting, external relationship with health partners and health facilities across Kandahar. Being focal point for protection of staffs and beneficiaries in southern region. Provide regular reporting to the PM in Kabul on day to day operations. Act as the IOM representative at regional coordination forums and the cluster system. Liaison focal point with the Afghan governmental officials, UN agencies, international organizations and other stakeholders working on returnee issues in Kandahar, particularly the Department of Refugees and Repatriation (DoRR), the Department of Labor and Social Affairs (DoLSA), UNHCR and WFP. Provide regular support to monitoring missions from donor agencies and IOM management as well as high level government delegations to the southern region.

Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual activity progress and financial reports and ensuring the accuracy and timely submission of these reports to the donor and managing agencies. Coordination with the donor, managing agencies, partners and other stakeholders, organizing regular or extraordinary team meetings in project management unit. Ensure team’s compliance with all obligations, policies and procedures and build compliance with any specific policies.

Community Outreach Coordinator
IRD-SPR - Kandahar, Afghanistan
Supervised Community Mobilization teams consisting of 40 staff members in Kandahar, Hilmand, Zabul, & Urozgan provinces. Introduced IRD-SPR-road programs to government officials, Community elders and beneficiaries. Prepared operational weekly Action Plans for Field Officers. Provided orientation and capacity building to newly recruited staff. Led on coordination with government partners to raise awareness of the programs.

Outreach Officer
Directed public outreach for the provincial governor’s office. Provided simultaneous interpretation at high level meetings, press conferences and dialogues that were being held between government officials and foreign dignitaries. Devised and implemented measures to ensure the safety and confidentiality of important translated documents. Developed public service messages and disseminated them radio spots, video spots, billboards and other promotional materials. Provided technical assistance to the GMIC strategic communication team in developing a comprehensive communication strategy for Kandahar Province. Developed a professional capacity building plan in the field of media and communications in consultation with GMIC senior management. Conducted a Training Needs Assessment (TNA) to identify training needs and to be able to plan and design capacity building programs. Wrote regular activity reports and translated training materials and press releasese.
