As Senior Sustainability Consultant - Engineering Net Zero at AtkinsRéalis, I bring over 15 years of experience in the construction industry and research. I work primarily on #EmbodiedCarbon analysis and reporting, in addition to identifying thrust areas and business opportunities in #Sustainability, #Circularity, and analyzing #LCA (lifecycle assessments). I gather, collate, and analyze data related to embodied carbon, formulate methodologies for client insights, projects and publish reports and papers on sustainability. I strategize on implementing sustainable practices in the built environment and infra projects through sustainable construction materials, aiming to achieve a net-zero built environment. Also, I bring experience in developing databases, dashboards, apps, and tools related to embodied carbon calculations and promoting #Circularity in construction. As a passionate #Civil-Structural_Engineer and #Sustainability enthusiast, I pursued doctoral research in developing "Sustainable Construction Materials" through #Recycling_Construction_and_Demolition_Waste, focusing on reducing embodied carbon (energy) and ensuring Circularity. I have developed #low-carbon construction materials, viz masonry units, mortars, concrete (SCC, CLSM), stabilized mud concrete, adobe (flowable adobe), and more, utilizing marginal materials primarily from #C&D_waste and industrial by-products. I have supervised over 40 master's thesis and authored more than 45 research publications in civil/structural engineering, primarily focusing on Sustainability in construction at various national and international forums. My career began as a Graduate Structural Engineer at Larsen & Toubro after securing top university ranks at both UG and PG levels. I have handled numerous leadership and invited roles, including organizing committee member for various conferences; reviewer for journals and conferences; member of BOE and BOS at the university level; institutional coordinator and conveyor, and member of the Young Managers Development Committee at Baroda Management Association and so on. I am a member of several professional bodies, including the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), ACCE (I), International Masonry Society (IMS), ASCE (Aff.M), ASTM (SM), SEFI - NICEE (IIT K), and ACI (SM). I also carry experience of having worked on analysis & design of power plant structures, BOP, RCC and steel structures in oil & gas, power, and infrastructure sectors in the past. My interests also include pre-engineered buildings and earthquake-resistant design of civil engineering structures.
