About
Though not native to Western North Carolina, I have found that – in my five years here – it is just what my bones are made of. I am happy to root myself in and work with Asheville's surrounding communities through my teaching position. My experiences beyond teaching have enhanced my success as an educator. I have a deeper understanding of what diversity means through my travels. Because of such, I have been able to build productive and valuable relationships with diverse students and peers. Additionally, my volunteering at Hinton Rural Life Center has resulted in valuable insight on economic disparity among students, which I am committed to diminishing. It is my goal to continually utilize my experiences with Buncombe County’s desire to maintain a challenging learning environment as well as its desire for engagement in school and community culture.
