Hossein Asadi, PhD
Senior Fluid Simulation Engineer @ Form Energy
About
• Mechanical engineer with a strong background in developing computational fluid and solid dynamics (CFD&FEA), heat transfer, and fluid-structure interaction (FSI) frameworks leading to successful validation. • Eight years of experience in the analysis of complex multi-physics systems using commercial software (Star-CCM+) and in-house codes (C/C++). • A year of experience in contributing to the design of next-gen automated visual inspection robots by providing CFD insight for an optimized liquid agitation. • Two years of experience in the design and analysis of thermal management strategies for battery systems • Strong mechanical aptitude and sense of ownership with a high desire to develop and master new skills in a collaborative environment.

Optimized liquid agitation of drug products for a collaborative capital project in the design of the next generation of automated visual inspection robots Set up experiments for the validation of the multiphase CFD model of conventional drug products agitation systems Captured and post-processed the human hand motion during the manual visual inspection and fed it into the validated volume of fluid (VOF) model in Star-CCM+

Graduate Assistant, Research

Proposed and validated a novel physics-based multi-body contact model for the coaptation of bioprosthetic heart valves in a nonlinear large deformation finite element method (FEM) framework using implicit and explicit methods. Implemented a nonlinear and anisotropic material model for stress analysis of bioprosthetic heart valves. Analyzed the effects of mechanical heart valve orientation on performance parameters on a complete left heart patient-specific geometry on an over-set grid. Implemented a coupled multi-physics deformable fluid-structure interaction (FSI) framework incorporating large eddy simulation (LES) turbulence modeling and validated it with experimental data using high-performance computing (HPC) resources. Proposed a non-dimensional number for categorizing the pulsatile flow in intracranial aneurysms applied to the state-of-the-art CFD methods. Scaled and categorized periodically generated vortex rings in a water tank at different Reynolds numbers and inflow waveforms using HPC resources

Graduate Assistant, Lecturer
