I am a second-generation gemstone supplier (my Father was a gemstone expert with over 40 years of direct mine-to-market experience), with a previous career in a different industry.I founded 'Mayfair Gems' in 2024 and my focus is now on building the business into a global coloured gemstone brand by applying the skills gained within my previous career whilst immersing myself in the gemstone industry and acquiring the most advanced, cutting-edge knowledge.I studied at Gübelin in Switzerland & was proud to be awarded the prestigious “Gübelin Coloured Gem Professional Diploma” and then at Magilabs in Houston, where he earned an advanced-level Diploma in the complex science of "Gemmological Spectroscopy".My former career was in the oil industry where I worked for a single large multinational organisation for 23 years. I specialised in jet fuel (commercial, military and general aviation) and was proud to work within a specialist team where we supplied more than $7bn of fuel per annum, making us one of the world’s largest jet fuel suppliers. I held many senior management roles relating to strategy & planning, quality management, legal & compliance, marketing and online business.I gained significant experience leading large-scale quality management implementations (having rolled-out and managed quality systems covering our entire global business and overseen the worldwide audit teams). I also gained particular skills and experience relating to the design, development and management of complex online business systems. I personally designed and managed groundbreaking systems facilitating the sale of aviation fuel online, that are now in use around the world.I hold a professional qualification as an ISO9001 Lead Auditor, multiple certifications relating to graphic design, website & database development and a BSc degree in Business Management. I am an experienced investor in the financial and luxury asset markets and also have an ongoing non-executive role within my family’s law firm.My main passion is now on developing 'Mayfair Gems' into an industry-leading business that truly leverages technology along with strong quality processes to help provide the very best gemstones to our clients in the most efficient way possible. In additional to supplying the jewellery sector, I am committed to developing new markets for coloured gemstones. I have a particular interest in emerging opportunities in the investor space (especially in relation to professional investors & hedge funds).
