Worked for 4 months on a research exchange with Strathclyde University, studying the effects of scattering on laser propagation. Was part of a team of physicists that looked at the experimental applications of this work, including low-error transmissometers, measurement of turbulance, and measurement of turbidity. This work also has applications in laser signal transmission.

* I tutor throughout the Montgomery County area for Peer2Peer Tutors. My main subject areas are mathematics and the sciences. I've taken on numerous students who have various goals in mind. Many would just like to see an improvement in grades, but at its core an improvement in coursework comes from a more thorough understanding of the material, its application, and its connections with other parts of a student's learning. I work on the atomic cooling and trapping of Rubidium atoms through a physics research lab at PAX, under 4.5.6 (Electro Optical Sensors). I started on a project aimed at miniaturizing current techniques and improving Navy application of the technology. I then switched to a longstanding experiment that focuses on magnetometry applications of our cold atom traps by probing them with Raman pulses specifically tailored to cycle the Rubidium population between states. I will be part time with NAVAIR until May 2017, when I join the division as a full-time employee under a SMART service scholarship.
