• Gathering and Analyzing the business requirements and propose a reliable Cognos solution • Creation of high level and low level design documents and present walkthrough for approval. • Develop Cognos Framework Manager model to create a logical model based on the requirement • Analyze data source systems and business requirements needed for cube/Report development. • Reports development using Transformer and Report Studio. • Optimize the reports and their queries to improve the report performance. • Prepare a unit test plan and SQL scripts that will cover all the functionalities and logics • Promote the code to the clear case tool for quality check. • Assist in implementation of the Cognos objects to the production environment. • Plan and schedule the report to run at desired frequency in Cognos Scheduler. Schedule the cubes to run on ETL job completion dependency using Autosys tool. • Support any adhoc requests from potential users. • Provide demos and trainings to users who are new to Cognos environment. Also provide perspective users with advanced Cognos training for self servicing on reports. • Co ordinate with offshore team on a daily basis, Allocation of task to the team and review their efforts • Organize a monthly Lunch and Learn sessions to the entire Partnership Group users on capabilities and features of Cognos (to promote Cognos and to identify potential new clients).
