Artur Schmidtchen

Prof. Artur Schmidtchen, senior consultant within Dermatology at Lund University hospital, is Professor and Head of Dermatology at Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University, Sweden, where he leads a research group that focuses on translational research within innate immunity, wound healing, and new treatments for infection and inflammation. As Professor and Scientific Director Dermatology at LKCMedicine, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, he was involved in building up translational research within dermatology during 2014-2016. Activities as consultant for companies, external advisor for investment funds, as well as co-founder and founder of four biotech companies has provided experience in R&D and therapeutic development. Schmidtchen has authored and co-authored over 180 papers, including high impact journals as Science Translational Medicine, Nature Communications, and PNAS. He is also a member of the board of the Welander-Finsen Foundation (Hudfonden), Acta Dermato-Venereologica, and the biotech companies in2cure AB and Xinnate AB.
