Sales requires a connection, building a rapport with the customer to discover their needs and wants, and then guiding them to solutions. These skills have become fine-tuned over my career by working in an entrepreneurial environment, where it was my responsibility to go after and grow the business. This sales cycle had me prospecting, converting, and retaining new accounts. With my time proven strategies, I have been able to develop trusting, long term, and repeat business with my clients while consistently maintaining a conversion rate of 90%. Along my journey, I have expanded my skills into mentoring and training for team members on all facets of the business.. Putting together training materials, sharing pearls, and instructing them on the correct processes making it possible to surpass our team goals. My background in sales and business development, especially within retail, made this a natural fit. I learn about the products and services, then discuss with each client to determine which combinations suit their needs, informing clients of the pros and cons so they can make educated decisions. Sales relies on more than selling primary services, though, and I always look for opportunities to cross-sell. Not only do clients feel heard and taken care of when you see to more than they ask for, but this also promotes building a solid base of revenue for the entire company. One of the other tasks I handle relates to training both new and current team members. Making sure everyone follows the same processes leads to consistency, which reduces chaos and creates an unseen foundation which makes it possible to focus on meeting clients’ expectations.

Using my understanding of sales, this business, and the retail industry as a whole, I also headed up designing a training program for sales associates, including the training materials. When employees are taught how they should do something, it reduces questions and time wasted as they try things which don’t work or aren’t as effective.
