I was responsible for all the website and online services of the Royal Opera House as part of a team of 4 developers and 1 designer. This included developing and maintaining the main website, that received nearly 500,000 monthly visitors. The team was managed in a Agile way, and the technical setup was a mixture of WordPress, Magento, and a bespoke Web application written in PHP, as well as monitoring the site during periods of increased activity (mostly when tickets were put on sale). During my employment there, I was part of the Royal Opera House’s effort to move services to digital platforms, and our team implemented the e-ticketing system that was deployed in the spring of 2016. Working in a team of 6 to 8 people, I was committed to writing robust and maintainable code for a fairly complex application for the Internet of Things, consisting of 5 components interacting with one another. As part of a team of 5 people, I was developing Evolution, Hubsphere’s sustainability platform that was designed to be scalable and handle large quantities of data. Working in a small team headed by the founder of the company, I contributed to the development of VivaMens, a full-fledged relational database management system, based on a new organisation of the indexes which had been patented in Europe and North America. The code had been written entirely from scratch and I single-handedly wrote the SQL parser, as well as parts of the execution plan for some specific queries. Developing SVEN, the company’s video streaming and logging system (sadly retired). The online application contained a Desktop-like interface and thus entailed a lot of frontend development, using the JavaScript framework Qooxdoo. Technologies used: git, Debian, Python, Pylons, jQuery

Under contract for tibdit for two months, I was developing a prototype of their micropayment platform, with the help of a frontend developer.
