Built Sinovoltaics' BESS quality assurance capabilities from the ground up. Designed inspection protocols for battery energy storage systems, established partnerships with battery diagnostics providers, and expanded the quality engineering team to cover BESS projects alongside the existing solar PV inspection business. Drove the company's positioning as a BESS quality specialist — from solar-only to solar + storage.

Contributing author to the 2023 & 2025 Battery Reports — a 700+-page annual publication by the Volta Foundation, compiled by 120+ battery professionals from 90+ institutions worldwide. In the 2025 edition, I focused on BESS procurement contract, FAT best practices and inspection findings as well as grid connection bottlenecks. Sinovoltaics data on BESS non-conformities found during FAT was featured in the stationary energy storage chapter (pp. 209-210) - including the finding that 66% of BESS projects miss at least one acceptance criteria when analysed with our BESSential solution In the 2023 edition, I focused on battery cell, battery packs and BESS manufacturing processes, quality assurance and factory acceptance testing

Independent energy storage consultant advising companies across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East on battery strategy, procurement, and product development. → Battery cell and ESS strategic sourcing for multiple clients across 3 continents → Energy storage system product development — from cell selection to EU compliance → Supplier selection, quality control frameworks, and gigafactory audit programs → Technology mapping and market analysis: solid-state batteries, sodium-ion, microgrids → Clients included hardware startups, energy developers, and global consulting firms This period gave me deep, hands-on exposure to every stage of the battery value chain — from cell chemistry to system integration — which directly shaped the quality frameworks I later developed at Sinovoltaics.

Led the development of a new battery energy storage system at this Hong Kong-based startup electrifying the construction industry. Defined product development processes, aligned cross-functional teams on strategic priorities, and established project and product management frameworks. Short but formative stint that gave me my first hands-on experience developing a battery storage product from concept to prototype — bridging the gap between my previous career in semiconductor imaging and the energy storage industry I work in today.

5+ years managing international technology products from development through production at this $3B global leader in imaging and sensing technology. Progressed from project engineer to project manager to marketing manager, overseeing 8 product launches across autonomous driving, drone, industrial, and medical applications. Managed cross-functional teams of 10-15 people across France, Taiwan, the UK, and Asia. Key achievements: recovered a strategic Chinese supplier relationship that was months behind schedule, delivered the product to market (now a major revenue contributor). Increased yield rate by 25% through hands-on supplier quality management. This role built my foundation in international supply chain management, factory-level quality control, and working with Asian manufacturers — skills that directly translate to what I do today in BESS quality assurance.

Master's thesis at CIRANO (Quebec's leading economic policy research institute). Developed econometric models to measure international illegal waste trade flows using Monte Carlo simulations. Not batteries — but this is where I learned to work with large datasets, build quantitative models, and turn complex data into actionable insights. The same analytical approach now drives our manufacturer financial rankings at Sinovoltaics.

Supply chain planning internship at Schneider Electric (medium voltage equipment). First exposure to industrial production management, SAP ERP systems, and the discipline of on-time delivery in a manufacturing environment. Achieved 100% on-time completion rate during my assignment (vs. 80% average).
