At Eye to Eyecare, I’ve been given the opportunity to work with technology in healthcare by supporting diagnostic and clinical workflows in a modern optometry practice. My work involves assisting with advanced imaging tools like autorefractors and retinal scanners, observing how data-driven diagnostics inform personalized care, and gaining firsthand insight into how technology enhances both patient outcomes and clinical efficiency

Selected to participate in a competitive summer program focused on clinical exposure and healthcare operations in a hospital emergency department. Shadowed physicians, nurses, and medical staff during patient intake, triage, treatment, and critical care delivery. Experienced hands-on insight into fast-paced, real-time medical decision-making and patient care workflows. Attended educational seminars on hospital protocols, emergency procedures, and interdisciplinary coordination Deepened interest in medicine by observing the human impact of acute medical conditions and trauma care.

As the SPL of Troop 797, I have managed scouts, coordinating logistics, fundraising, and community outreach and developed leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills. Additionally, I have participated in a variety of service opportunities; 500+ Hours.

Specifically during the program, I conducted field research in Kenya, focusing on the intersection of education and public health. My successful capstone project explored the widespread neglect of technology in primary schools and its potential to enhance healthcare outcomes in underserved communities. Through on-the-ground interviews and data analysis, I proposed sustainable solutions to bridge the digital divide and promote health literacy through early education. This experience deepened my passion for global development and peaked my interest to dive deeper after the program.
