The government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and a group of companies representing the Dutch fruit sector have developed a public private partnership, Dutch Fruit Solutions Kazakhstan (DFSK), to assist in developing an efficient, sustainable fruit sector in Kazakhstan. DFSK aims at concluding cooperation agreements with relevant knowledge centers in the fruit sector in Kazakhstan. DFSK will support the ambitious intention of the Kazakh authorities to rejuvenate and extend the present fruit production on hard fruit, stone fruit and soft fruit, with a focus on 3 elements that contribute to fruit quality, fruit quantity, fruit-plant protection and fruit export: • Virus free planting material, • Design and implementation of (super) intensive orchards, • Optimisation of pre-harvest-, harvest- and post-harvest activities. Overall objective of DFSK is to introduce and market an integrated Dutch approach of fruit production and processing, adjusted to local Kazakh requirements. This will be accomplished by: • Transfer of knowledge needed to achieve higher levels of efficiency, quality and sustainability by Train the Trainer activities. • Establishment of a demonstration plot with a high tech orchard. • Starting procedures for Kazakh membership of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV). • Set up of local nursery with Kazakh stakeholders.

The International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) and the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO) have an impressive history of serving the food industry through the twentieth century and the impressive development of refrigeration in the movement of food products. Moving into the twenty-first century, many of these organizations' members found a need to adapt business models in response to an acceleration of changing global conditions. This response represented an increased integration of the cold chain industry. This, in turn, initiated closer relationships among all players in the supply chain. Developments such as dedicated distribution facilities and public refrigerated warehouse (PRW) investment in trucking assets bore witness to this trend.

Expert in marketing, economics and logistics Rural Development Research Project - Chilik Farmers Cooperative - the project implemented in the direct parthership of the University of Florida, Philip Morris Kazakhstan and Local Communities Foundation (Enbekshikazakh district); - the main purpose of the project is to help local farmers and communities to be effective, profitable and innovative with different varieties of crops (fruits and vegetatbles), fertilizers, pest control and new technologies (drip irrigation, grenhouses, tunnels); - development of the training programm for the farmers; - development of the competition programm among the local farmers; - development and implementation of the demonstration farm; - meeting with governement bodies, Akimats, National Enterpreneur Chamber, agricultural universities and institutes; - meeting with managers of bazars and supermarkets, farmers and processing companies; - analysis of the market of seeds, seedlings and agricultural equipment.

The main idea of the project is to build sustanable agricultural business and delivery organic fresh fruits for the members of Arba Eco Auyl. All the products will be produced in Karakemer village at Almaty region.
