* major projects and responsibilities: * Modelling water ballast system of the vessel Pioneering Spirit (PS). 12 pumps and network to 87 tanks. Used in a simulator to train the vessel crew and to evaluate duration of operations. * Lay out (re)design of control interface for the PS ballast system. Reducing the chances for human errors and improving general overview. * Lay out, design and programming of operator feedback screen for PS ballast operations. Check for pump cavitation, use connectivity matrix to highlight connected tanks and pumps, inform user for improper connections, estimate flow for tanks and pumps. * supervision of wind tunnel experiments for PS to optimize the wind sensor locations.
