As an SDE intern in the Tax - Taskless 3P Withholding team at Amazon, I had the opportunity to contribute to a critical project aimed at automating tax-related processes. During my six-month internship, I actively participated in the development and implementation of innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in 3P withholding tax. Working closely with experienced engineers, I gained hands-on experience in Java, React, TypeScript, and AWS services. I collaborated with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, analyze data, and design scalable software solutions. One of my key responsibilities was to develop and enhance the backend systems, ensuring seamless integration with various tax-related services and APIs. I actively contributed to code reviews, conducted unit testing, and implemented improvements based on feedback and best practices. Additionally, I played a significant role in creating a user-friendly UI tool that streamlined the 3P withholding tax process. I collaborated with frontend developers to design intuitive interfaces using React and TypeScript, resulting in a more efficient and user-friendly experience for internal users. Throughout my internship, I demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. I actively sought opportunities to learn and grow, staying updated with the latest technologies and industry trends. Overall, my internship experience at Amazon's Tax - Taskless 3P Withholding team provided me with valuable insights into software development practices, teamwork, and the complex domain of tax compliance.
