* Stresses in the arterial wall are implicated in a number of pathological processes.. Stresses are generated by the passive elements of the arterial wall (elastin, collagen), as well as the active element of the wall (vascular smooth muscle - VSM). During my PhD Thesis I have been working on the following topics. * Experimental investigation of collagen waviness and orientation in the arterial wall * Mathematical modeling considering the angular dispersion and waviness of collagen fibers * Extension-inflation mechanical testing of arterial tissues and study of the generation of stress due to the contraction of VSM cells * Setting up experimental apparatus, collecting and analyzing data * Analysis of the mechanical properties of the arterial wall * Constituent-based mathematical modeling of the arterial wall * Remodeling of the arterial wall * Solving minimization problems with constraints * 6 scientific articles (please see Publications section below) * 7 Conference/Congress presentations (please see Publications section below)
