Aradhana Sarin

I am driven by learning and continuous improvement, both for myself and the companies where I work, and my personal goal in life is to leave something better than I found it. I live by that principle every day. I was born and brought up in Tanzania and am passionate about nature, biodiversity and preserving this planet because it’s the only home we have. I trained as a physician in India and Tanzania, and later earned an MBA from Stanford. I spent nearly two decades on Wall Street advising healthcare companies on strategic growth and capital formation. The hundreds of transactions I completed in that time gave me deep insight into what it takes to make a business great. I left investment banking in 2017 to join Alexion Pharmaceuticals in an operating role. Now, as CFO at AstraZeneca, I help drive business performance and continuous improvement, while also playing a critical role in key investment decisions for our next wave of scientific innovation. I am incredibly proud of the work we are doing to transform the future of healthcare. I am a builder of talent and community, both personally and professionally, bringing people together whenever I can. I live out of a suitcase mostly and have the privilege of meeting people and learning wherever I travel. As Captain Haddock says to Tintin, I have an unquenchable thirst for adventure!!
