The placement gave me a wide range of experience from desk work such as writing instructional procedures and analysing P&IDS, as well as first-hand experience around the plant. I have worked with a variety of power tools, machinery and plant equipment and applied myself to any task that arose. I enjoyed getting involved with big projects that required lots of planning to ensure equipment can be safely installed and commissioned. My dedication and passion for the job has paid off as after the 12 months at Campact the director granted me an extension to stay on over the summer. Furthermore, the mechanical engineer asked me to stay on part time while I complete the final year of my degree.
