- The research involves work in the networking and traffic engineering field in the project Dynamic Resource Allocation in GMPLS Optical Networks (DRAGON). The project creates a Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) capable optical core network. Optical transport and switching equipment acting as Label Switching Routers (LSRs) will provide deterministic network resources at the packet, wavelength, and fiber cross connect levels. This DRAGON environment which is written in C was set up on LINUX at CNL which serves as an experimental campus network attached to the core infrastructure. - Worked with networking protocols like OSPF, IGP/EGP, SNMP, RSVP, TCP/IP and Linux socket programming. - Researched on the Authentication, Authorization and Accounting protocols of Remote Authentication Dial In User Service (RADIUS) and DIAMETER - Thesis involved studying the various sampling techniques which can be helpful in traffic profiling and accounting. It included the optimization of the best sampling technique with the aid of simulation models in MATLAB. Analytical models were presented to support the simulations.
