I joined EVONA to help set-up the Technology Contract Recruitment Team giving the business an additional service offering of recruiting and providing skilled contractors across the US & EU Space Market. During my time here; I specialised in the recruitment of permanent professionals for Finance & Accountancy vacancies throughout West Yorkshire. I dealt with both non, part and qualified candidates; AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA.

Verrus Group is a UK based recruitment company dealing with mid-to-senior sales, commercial, operational and technical professionals, across eight major market sectors including: manufacturing, construction, civil engineering, energy, technology, chemicals, consumer goods and business services. My first 6 months at Verrus was spent in the research team where my main role was to act as a link between our consultants and clients by crystallizing and understanding vacancy briefs and gathering a shortlist of candidates for contingency and retained projects. Following my 6 months at Verrus I was then given further training to develop my skills to becoming a 360’ Recruitment Consultant. Training and further duties included: telephone screening & interviewing candidates, new business development and liaising with clients and candidates to arrange interviews.

Kingson Law was a UK based solicitors practice located in city of Leeds specializing in personal injury, industrial disease and clinical negligence law. I joined Kingson Law as an unpaid intern whist studying my degree before being offered a full time position after my studies as a legal/litigation assistant. My main duties included; conducting various legal support and administrative functions, such as: legal research using Westlaw and/or Lexis-Nexis, analyzing documents for expert witnesses and preparing trial exhibits and trial binders for court. Additionally, I was also given the added responsibility of carrying a caseload of my own (mainly consisting of claims relating to simple Road Traffic (RTA) related injuries). My role primarily was to process these cases from start to finish through the MOJ Portal (Stage 1, Stage 2 & Stage 3), obtaining medical reports, valuing the claims, communicating directly with clients & defendant representatives to perform intake interviews, provide case updates and identify potential issues/problems associated with liens. My knowledge of personal injury law was also expanded during my time here through shadowing senior solicitors on more complex cases ranging from; vibration white finger, noise induced hearing and industrial disease related claims.

A part time job whilst studying my degree at Leeds Beckett University, my time at the ‘Double Tree’ involved providing the highest level of customer service whilst working in three different departments, these included: room service, restaurant hosting and bartending. My flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to working multiple roles was quickly recognized thus after 6 months I was promoted to room service supervisor, giving me the opportunity to test my management and leadership skills through the added responsibility of training and management of new staff joining the team. Under my time working at the hotel I also played a key part in helping the F&B team achieve 'The Best Yorkshire Restaurant of the Year' at the 'Oliver Awards' for providing outstanding customer service and food.

Halliwells LLP was a UK commercial law firm practicing from offices in Manchester, London, Liverpool and Sheffield, with 116 partners and around 850 employees. My time here was spent working in the department specializing in employment law, during which, I was given the opportunity of learning the basics of the legal system and the working culture of a multinational law firm. Day-to-day duties consisted of; drafting letter and claims forms, reading and updating case files, and also shadowing senior solicitors by attending court hearings and tribunals.

Final Year Elected Modules : • Intellectual Property • Employment Contract Law • Internet Law My dissertation discussed "The Limitations Imposed By Common Law On The Freedom Of Employers To Enforce Express Terms Within Contracts Of Employment". Using case laws and studies, I analysed the impact of express terms within contract of employments focusing on Mobility Clauses, Restrictive Covenants and Flexibility Clauses; critically evaluating how common law deals with them, especially in situations where there were conflicts between the employer and employee's relationship.
