* Consultant, Country Programs Unit * Launched Sierra Leone Court Monitoring Program and served as Interim Project Director. Supervised a team of 10 monitoring the national courts and the Anti-Corruption Commission. * Developed and implemented a strategic plan and budget for the project. Raised over 1 million USD.

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon is a United Nations backed ad hoc international criminal tribunal based in the Netherlands with a mandate to investigate the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister, Refik Hariri, and other related assassinations. 51% of the Tribunal’s budget is funded through voluntary contributions from governments. Special Assistant/Adviser to the Registrar Worked closely with the Registrar of the institution, an official appointed by the UN Secretary-General, on matters pertaining to external relations, outreach, budgetary matters and political issues. Developed strategic relationships with representatives of governments. Assisted in all fundraising efforts. Assisted in developing a communications/outreach plan for the tribunal.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) was established as a result of the peace agreement which ended the decade long civil war in Sierra Leone and its mandate is to create an impartial historical record of the violations and abuses of human rights related to the conflict. The TRC completed its work in 2004. Consultant, Legal and Reconciliation Unit Seconded to the TRC by the International Center for Transitional Justice. Made recommendations to the Government of Sierra Leone on how to implement a reparations program. The program was implemented and over 30,000 victims have benefited from the program to date.

* ICTJ is an international non-profit organization that operates worldwide and helps societies grapple with the legacy of human rights violations through measures such as accountability, reparations, truth telling and institutional reform. * Senior Associate, Policy and External Relations * Joined the organization at the request of the ICTJ President who served as a previous supervisor during my tenure at the United Nations. Re-joined the organization after serving as a consultant from 2003-2005. * Responsible for overseeing 80% of organization’s total revenue from governments. Worked closely with the President of the organization to secure multi-year and multi-million USD grants from European states. * Organized several symposia relating to the principle of complementarity which is assisting states in their obligation to pursue investigations and prosecutions for serious crimes and crimes against humanity. Symposia resulted in actionable recommendations. * Member of senior management tasked with developing the organization’s three-year strategic plan.

* IDLO is an intergovernmental organization headquartered in Rome, Italy that works on development and rule of law projects around the world. Over 30 governments are members of the organization. * Senior Government Relations Officer, External Relations Department * Built relationships with governments to raise the profile of the institution. * Served as the point of contact for the organizations’ governing bodies and sought ways to increase the efficiency of these bodies. * Worked closely with the resource mobilization unit to secure funding from governments.

The Rule of Law Collaborative is an interdisciplinary center that manages the JusTRAC program, an initiative of INL at the United States Department of State. JusTRAC has a congressional mandate to raise the capacity of U.S. government officials on rule of law issues. Seeking additional funding opportunities from European governments and private foundations. Developing strategic partnerships with European government officials and representatives of civil society. Establishing a satellite office for the center in The Hague, Netherlands; the first office to be established by the university overseas. Organized various symposia on topics relating social justice issues, such as the divide between police and African American communities. Launching a pilot project in 5 U.S. cities examining the root causes of the divide and mapping initiatives that seek to drive change in their communities.
