The Special Tribunal for Lebanon is a United Nations backed ad hoc international criminal tribunal based in the Netherlands with a mandate to investigate the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister, Refik Hariri, and other related assassinations. 51% of the Tribunal’s budget is funded through voluntary contributions from governments. Special Assistant/Adviser to the Registrar Worked closely with the Registrar of the institution, an official appointed by the UN Secretary-General, on matters pertaining to external relations, outreach, budgetary matters and political issues. Developed strategic relationships with representatives of governments. Assisted in all fundraising efforts. Assisted in developing a communications/outreach plan for the tribunal.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) was established as a result of the peace agreement which ended the decade long civil war in Sierra Leone and its mandate is to create an impartial historical record of the violations and abuses of human rights related to the conflict. The TRC completed its work in 2004. Consultant, Legal and Reconciliation Unit Seconded to the TRC by the International Center for Transitional Justice. Made recommendations to the Government of Sierra Leone on how to implement a reparations program. The program was implemented and over 30,000 victims have benefited from the program to date.
