Anthony Facchini

I am currently the key global and regional technical contact for MWF and Cold Forming, supporting global entities to address formulary, application, manufacturing, and/ raw materials questions in addition to troubleshooting issues. I collaborate with other regions to identify and support new product development projects, by conducting testing, providing technical support, and leading quarterly and bi-annual regional meetings with Segment Leaders to identify new product development opportunities based on market gaps. I am also a steering member for Innovation Projects related to MWFs and Cold Forming. Additionally, I create and support Global R & D budgets for MWF and Cold Forming up to 400K+ and provide global controlling with spreadsheets, outlining FTE distribution per project and monies spent, in addition to recalibrating budgets due to modifications in staff, project, or projected project commencement. I prioritize global and regional projects and develop short and long-term strategy for global MWF and Cold Forming Group, manage all raw materials for North America, and managed a Raw Material Technical Crisis Team to identify offsets, prepare testing requirements, test new chemistry in various products, communicate findings to Procurement, Manufacturing, and Sales, and roll out new product versions.

In this role, I led a team of 5 Chemists, 1 Technician and 4 Temps, managing the team responsible for MWFs, Rust Preventatives, Cold Forming, Coil, Food, Paint Detack, Glass, and Metal Packaging. I was responsible for providing monthly, quarterly, and annual project / team updates to the Technical Director and managed KPI’s, evaluating team performance against long established KPI’s and implementing adjustments to improve performance where necessary. I also identified new projects with Product Management and Segment Leads and outlined performance targets and timelines for implementation, while providing technical support for ISO / QS audits, meeting with the Auditor to provide details regarding group processes, thoroughly detail all steps in development projects and address any question or concerns. Additionally, I managed Raw Material Portfolio for North America, and was recognized as 1 of 2 leading Chemists for BASF Integration.

In this role, I developed MWFs, Rust Preventatives and Cold Forming Lubricants and supported Manufacturing on batch corrections and other manufacturing related issues, examining and correcting batch issues. I also assisted with a First Pass Yield Project by analyzing problematic products and their batch history/corrections, building product in the lab, confirming corrections of the “new product” and issuing the new formulation. Additionally, I partnered with the Quality Department to troubleshoot product complaints and provide corrective action. I provided technical advice to sales, field engineers, and customers, resulting in increased retention and new revenue generation. I provided major technical support for multiple, high-profile acquisitions / integrations, evaluating raw material portfolio, identifying potential matches in current raw material line. I also set up new raw materials for approximately 500+ RMs per acquisition, reviewed chemistry, managed performance testing and applications, and provided details to the product manager / segment leader on the new products.
