Smart Band Real-time Monitoring System • Designed and implemented RESTful APIs to publish health monitor data including blood pressure, temperature, and heard rate from smart fitness bands using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, capable of handling 2000+ QPS in benchmark for testing. • Developed data simulator to simulate the sensors to send raw monitor data for load testing & RESTful APIs health check. • Built data ingestion pipeline to accept, validate & preprocess client requests and publish data to RabbitMQ for buffering. • Developed data consumer service to subscribing data from RabbitMQ, process data & persist data to MySQL via JPA.

Analytics Data Collection System • Developed a high-performance ETL platform that processes raw health data of 200+ QPS and engineers 100+ features. • Monitored real-time signals in the analytic stream with event watch service and advanced signal detection by five minutes. • Used Google Cloud ML API and TensorFlow to train machine learning models and run A/B tests.

• Developed and maintained a cross-platform software BrainSuite Statistics Toolbox written in Python and R (http://brainsuite.org/bss/) for performing structural group analysis of brain imaging data generated from BrainSuite. • Implemented parametric and non-parametric statistics tools including statistical methods and advanced statistical models in bss to improve the efficiency of data analysis and the quality of analysis output. • Designed and explored machine learning tools in R for further analyzing brain imaging data. • Contribute to algorithm and code development efforts on statistical methods for shape, image and signal processing from neuroimaging and biological data. • Collaborate on open source code to build websites and to create and publish packages • Conduct regression models, ANOVA, hypothesis testing and confidence interval for brain imaging measures.

• Taught math and English for ~ 50 elementary students in E-Xue summer school • Math course topics range from learning basic math computation rules to solving real life problems • Used variety of teaching methods to liven up a lesson (e.g. games, experiments, presentations) • Shared personal experience in studying in the United States and suggestions on how to learn English better with students • Assisted teachers to prepare Power Point, study materials and grade students’ homework
