In my Master thesis I got introduced into the exciting field of AAV based gene therapy. During my PhD I deepened my knowledge on vector engineering and aspects of AAV´s basic biology.

Within my Master studies I set a focus on infectious diseases. In my master thesis I studied vector engineering of Adeno-associated viruses (AAV) by DNA family shuffling - a technique for diversification of viral capsids based on random fragmentation of input genes followed by homology based recombination during PCR.

In Marburg I obtained a Bachelor´s degree in Biology. I chose a focus in microbiology and wrote my bachelor thesis at the MPI for Terrestrial Microbiology.
