I am a veterinary clinician with a special focus on research and Emergency and Critical Care (ECC). I am passionate about providing gold standard care for emergency and critical patients, with main interests in haematological and respiratory emergencies. Emergency settings also come with a great deal of client care as I have experienced along the way. I have learned to manage OOH shifts that often run at a thrilling pace and under great pressure, where emotions fly high and both clients and patients need different care and attention than that delivered at day practice. All this means that every shift comes with new challenges and teamwork and leadership are essential skills to meet them. I am currently combining my clinical work with research about genetics of complex disease in dogs at the University of Cambridge. Thanks to Morris Animal Foundation, I am now a Research Fellow and a phD candidate at the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience studying the factors that lead to obesity in dogs, including eating behaviours, owner management, and genetic makeup with: GOdogs Project (https://www.godogs.org.uk)
