Experience

special olympics mena games journalist
abu dhabi world
During the Special Olympics MENA Games, held in Abu Dhabi in March 2018, I was part of a team of journalists covering the events across the city for Abu Dhabi World, a popular weekly magazine. For the durations of the games I attended multiple events and venues, and interviewed the teams and athletes. For each game or event covered, I sent in a daily report for publishing that evening. Each day I attended up to three different sporting events, making it a point to get to know the athletes, teams, and family members who had traveled to Abu Dhabi for the Regional games. My articles were compiled with all game reports at the Abu Dhabi World Special Olympics dedicated online site, in addition to in print in that week's magazine. This was a volunteer position and incredibly invaluable. Not only was I a beat journalist for a week, but I had the pleasure of being a small part of the Special Olympics MENA Games. It is the first time the games have been held in Abu Dhabi, and in preparation for the World Games in 2019.

newsletter co-editor
abu dhabi mums
Assisted the Editor of the Abu Dhabi Mums newsletter in research and writing articles. Topics ranged from activities in Abu Dhabi, profiles of leaders in the Abu Dhabi Mums group, and various event announcements or re-caps. I worked alongside other members of the newsletter team, as well as other members of the group, to brainstorm ideas and collaborate on topics. Finally, I assisted in editing the newsletter before it went out each month.

product development administrative support coordinator
conrad
On a daily basis, I wrote, reviewed, and edited contracts, explanatory content, meeting minutes and assisted with editing publications and press releases. I worked alongside first the Clinical, then the Product Development teams to carry out necessary tasks in support of all various positions. Responsible for co-leading the planning and execution of a symposium for leading researchers. Continuously worked to develop and maintain electronic databases and physical filing systems for contracts, projects, and publications. I performed all administrative duties within Product Development and Clinical groups, to include invoices, travel reimbursements, etc.

account executive
mac mannes, inc. - a promotional and branding company
In this position, I was responsible for helping companies promote themselves internally or externally through promotional products. One particularly enjoyable project was working with Sojourners to create eco-friendly, BPA-free mugs made of 100% recycled product, to be sent to donors.

marketing and membership intern
san francisco film society
As a marketing intern, I gathered media kit information for potential sponsors for the 50th SF International Film Festival, assisted guests at SFFS film events, and helped deliver fliers, brochures and magazines to various Bay Area sponsors for distribution. I was responsible for marketing the SFIFF50 and smaller film+club events via social networking - at the time Facebook, MySpace and Yahoo groups. Assisting in membership, I updated current member information and put together membership packets for delivery. I greeted attendees at events, answering questions, handing out information for the respective event, and gathering names of those interested in membership to follow-up with. The attendance for the 50th International Film Festival was one of the highest attended events for SFFS.
