Research position financed by the Vinnmer career grant from Vinnova. Working at the Wallenberg laboratory at the Sahlgrenska Academy and at the Biophysics departement, Gothenburg University, Sweden, and at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA. During this period I used optical tweezers for live cell measurements of the viscoelastic properties of the pericellular matrix and cell surfaces. Focus on understanding of the composition and features of the endothelial glycocalyx. In addition I worked with in vivo and in vitro models investigating renal and vascular injury in diabetic nephropathy and nephrotic syndromes.

Post-doctoral position financed by the Swedish research council (VR). Collaboration with Mattias Goksör. During this time I also did a short-time fellowship financed by the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) situated at the Georgia Insitute of Technology, Dep of Cell Physics, GA, USA. Collaborating with Jennifer Curtis. The project focused on using Optical tweezers to study the mechanical properties of pericellular matrix and cell surfaces.
