At the helm of Dispute Resolution, I built the entire legal recovery process from scratch. Driving innovative judicial and non-judicial strategies, I’ve boosted collection efficiency through targeted notices, conciliations, virtual OTS programmes and litigation. I craft and execute case-specific plans for both active and write-off pools, delivering tangible recovery outcomes. My focus: turning strategy into results, with speed, compliance and impact.

As Legal Head – Southern Zone at Tata Motors, I led litigation strategy, customer dispute resolution, and statutory compliance, ensuring business agility and legal resilience. I drove capability-building through training on Legal Metrology and the Consumer Protection Act, and played a key role in the landmark demerger of the Passenger Vehicle business. I safeguarded the company’s intellectual assets by managing its full trademark and domain portfolio. I negotiated and executed strategic agreements across multiple business verticals, enabling growth and risk mitigation. Trusted advisor to leadership on high-stakes matters including data privacy, competition law, and consumer protection.

(i) Responsibilites (i) Drafting and reviewing various documents, including loan agreements, mortgage deeds, deeds of hypothecation, deeds of guarantee, share pledge agreements, and more. (ii) Creating and perfecting security interests, conducting due diligence, title searches, legal audits, and ensuring compliance to protect the organization’s interests. (iii) Recovery and resolution of non-performing assets. (iv) Providing legal opinions on issues related to property law, insolvency law, Sarfaesi Act, and others. (v) Had the opportunity to represent the organization during the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process in multiple cases involving amounts exceeding 1 billion. (vi) Initiating insolvency proceedings under Section 7 of IBC, 2016; filing applications before the DRT for debt recovery; taking possession of assets under the Sarfaesi Act; approaching the High Court under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution for timely case disposal; and filing complaints under Section 138 of the NI Act.

(i) Drafting responses to consumer complaints filed under the Consumer Protection Act, as well as appeals and revision petitions related to the insurance industry, automobile, finance sector, e-commerce services, courier services, and more. (ii) Nationwide monitoring of cases filed by or against our clients. (iii) Providing legal opinions to client companies on various matters, including electricity law, labor laws, insurance laws, tax laws, and intellectual property rights.
