I’m Ankit, an Integrated M.Tech Graduate from IIIT Gwalior' 26 and a Backend Engineer Intern at Rakuten India. I’m drawn to problems at the intersection of systems and optimization, where the real challenge is building software that is fast, reliable, and able to scale without compromising correctness. My current work spans Apache Spark, Airflow, GCP, and BigQuery, where I help build ETL pipelines and backend systems that process large-scale transactional data for analytics and operational workflows. At Rakuten, I have worked on an LLM-powered RCA Intelligence Agent, zero-downtime schema migrations, and scalable ELT pipelines designed for performance, resilience, and cost efficiency. Before that, I built Vaultpay, a secure banking API; AutoRef, an AI-powered outreach platform; and a distributed rate limiter focused on low-latency enforcement under concurrency. I enjoy backend engineering, distributed systems, and data engineering because they demand both rigor and judgment. I also spend time on competitive programming, which I see as a disciplined way to sharpen algorithmic thinking and problem-solving. My stack includes C++, Python, Node.js, FastAPI, Express.js, Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Docker, AWS, and GCP.
