* I currently work at Fairview International School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Fairview International School is an International Baccalaureate World School, with five campuses located across Malaysia. I am fortunate to be involved in two of the three IB Programmes; the Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme. Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications (PDQs) provide a strong framework to support the effective continuing professional development of teachers and leaders. They help teachers and leaders to: * engage critically with relevant concepts, principles, theories and international best practices * apply new ideas and approaches in reflective practice in their own teaching and learning context * evaluate experiences and outcomes to plan further development * improve the quality of their teaching and leadership to enhance the quality of their learners’ learning. PDQs are designed to be integrated into schools’ professional development planning, activities and culture. They help schools to improve, through cost-effective, sustainable programmes which benefit teachers and their learners. They demonstrate to parents, the school community and stakeholders that the school values and nurtures staff development.

NQF Level 6 (REQV 14) SAQA ID: 58954 ACE provides an advanced education qualification as completion to initial training specialising in either of the 11 areas: Life Orientation; History Education; Learner Support; English Education; Maths GET Band; Foundation Phase; Intermediate and Senior Phase; Geography; Technology; Human Movement Education; and Maths Literacy.

NQF level 6 REQV 14 SAQA ID: 57142 The programme is practice-based and has a strong classroom focus. After completion, the student will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and values required as stipulated in the National Curriculum Statement. The student will also be allowed to progress to REQV 13 as a fully qualified, professional teacher in the Foundation, Intermediate, Senior and/or FET phases. After the student has completed the NPDE, he/she will be empowered with the fundamental, practical and reflexive competencies required for further study at NQF level 6 (REQV 14).
