Angela May
Sr. Corporate Counsel @ Alaska Airlines
About
I am a passionate litigator defending employers from employment discrimination suits including Title VII claims, wrongful termination, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, wage and hour, and California PAGA claims. I also have experience with the Railway Labor Act and support the company's Labor Relations team in arbitration and union negotiations. I also work closely with the compliance team to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. I have had the unique experience of spending the majority of my legal career as a Plaintiff's attorney where I represented individuals in personal injury, family, employment, workers 'compensation, criminal, and contract disputes. Since I have had the experience of both plaintiff and defense work, I pride myself on being a person who can think outside-of-the-box when confronted with legal issues. When I am not advising the company on legal issues, I enjoy reading, writing, and traveling the world to immerse myself in other cultures. I volunteer with several organizations and I have been named to the National Black Lawyers 40 under 40 list and I have also been named as a Hampton University 40 under 40 alumnus.
