Aneta Magiera (Karpińska), PhD

For the past five years, I have been combining scientific and business activities. I am a Specialist at the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS. At the same time, I am the Leader and Co-founder of the IPC PAS commercialization initiative, Cell-IN. My doctoral research concerned the penetration of anticancer drugs into living mammalian cells. As part of Cell-IN, I manage a project that addresses the needs of scientists and companies for a tool that efficiently delivers the desired compound into human cells. I regularly participate in both scientific and business conferences. In 2023 alone, I participated in 7 such events. I am constantly developing my leadership and business skills – so far, I have participated in 3 programs, such as The Excellerator 2023, organized by the University of Cambridge.I am the author of 14 scientific articles and the winner of 9 awards, including the 25th edition of L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program, START 2023 FNP with distinction as one of six people in Poland, and the W. Świętosławski Third Degree Award. I represented Poland at the Falling Walls Lab 2024 finals in Berlin and the 73rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting. My experience includes contracting seven different research projects (including with foreign entities) and managing a Proof of Concept grant awarded by the Foundation for Polish Science for the development and validation of Cell-IN technology
