• As the first scientist hired in the newly formed exploratory biology group played an integral role in building the team in terms of equipment and team members. • Helped to establish the relationships and working dynamics with colleagues from biologics, biology, computational biology, business development, legal, clinical, and project management. • Lead two exploratory programs in immunology by coordinating with internal team members as well as external academic collaborators. • Novel assays were developed to answer key questions around primary technology applications in new disease areas before target validation could begin.

• As first member of the translational biology team played an active role in hiring and integration with biology team • Developed a PET based integrin RO assay in collaboration with Invicro corporation as well as an in house pk/pd assay measuring pSMAD for both lung and liver fibrosis indications. Ran a study analyzing serum samples from normal and IPF serum to determine potential biomarkers, results of which were presented at the 2020 ERS international symposium and are in preparation for publication. All of these efforts resulted in two compounds being transferred to AbbVie as part of a partnership agreement in which they have filed IND and will move compounds into clinic and we receive 20M milestone. • As part of the translation effort, developed a chore platform technology from scratch measuring integrin heterodimers. This technology, for the first time, allowed for rapid quantitative detection of integrins that were problematic to measure previously. This technology was paired with Nanostring technology to allow for the generation of an integrin database across species, tissue, disease states, and corresponding animal models.

• As one of the first scientists hired in biology research group helped to establish group by procurement of equipment, playing active role in hiring team, and initial assay development. Generated first in vitro activity data for morphic and coordinated with in vivo team to generate first animal data. • As one of the first employees in the discovery biology team began work on the immunology program developing first of kind cell adhesion assays using physiological conditions and quantitative flow cytometry assays that directly progressed MORF-057 into the clinic and the selection of its backup compound. • In support of the fibrosis program developed an acute model of PSC reducing turnaround time from over a month to 10 days using far less novel compound and allowing compound selection to proceed at a greater speed. Streamlined many of the ex vivo analysis techniques used for measuring efficacy in fibrotic models further increasing turnaround time while also improving data quality.

2007-2016 Staff Scientist I in the preclinical orthopedics group. Responsibilities include investigating the pathways involved in the osteoarthritis pain including the development of a potential in vitro pain model for OA. Efforts resulted in a small molecule currently in Phase I trials. Continued efforts in the cartilage repair space by developing high throughput 1536 well assay for screening chondrogenic small molecules and further assays to select top compounds. Investigated the role that bone marrow lesions play in osteoarthritis by analyzing human clinical samples by RNA seq. and interpreting the important pathways active in the lesion. Development of a screening cascade in order to narrow a few hundred osteogenic compounds down to the top three for a spinal fusion project 2004-2007. Principle research associate in the Stem cell biology group. Initial work was involved using adult bone marrow stem cells as a source of cells for cartilage repair. Eventually the focus shifted more towards the role stem cells play in tissue repair or tumor micro environment. Heavy efforts were focused on the SDF-1 CXCR4 signaling pathway and its role in various cancers. Data from these studies helped provide due diligence for the Anormed acquisition. 2001-2004 Sr. research associate in the Cell biology group. Efforts were focused on the Carticel II cell therapy program trying to establish a cartilage repair product which would be easier to use with a faster recovery time than the current Carticel product
