After being made redundant from Novartis I took a year's break indulging in my hobbies (photography mainly) and wondering if I could scratch a living from them. The lure of the smell of solvents and the purring of Buchi pumps proved too much to resist, however, and I'm now back in the lab, and back in my home county of Cornwall to boot.
