High blood pressure is the silent killer. There are no symptoms of its own, but high blood pressure can dramatically increase one’s risk of developing heart disease or stroke. Through “Target: BP and “Check. Change. Control. Blood Pressure”, the American Heart Association is increasing awareness about the effects of high blood pressure by working with hospitals and enrolling Americans in AHA’s BP self-monitoring programs. Still about HALF of Americans have high blood pressure and HALF of that group does not have their condition under control. Individuals can check their blood pressure at CCCtracker.com/aha and community partners can help us implement Target: BP Kiosks, or “Check. Change. Control. Blood Pressure.”
