Additional responsibility for New Product Introduction process in the business.

Responsible for validating materials provision and production capacity of delivery schedules across all timescales; co-ordinating operational acceptance of customer orders; liaising on material schedules with purchasing team; and for ensuring MRP system aligns with operational activities.

Responsible for purchasing and material planning for a Value Stream within electronic communications equipment design and manufacturing business. This included supplier selection, subcontract management, purchase order placement and management, obsolescence management, and inputting and responding to the business' Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning (SI&OP) process. Significant achievements included leading the international supply chain transfer following a factory closure in the USA; managing a product outsourcing project in response to a large customer order; leading the introduction and development of an MRP based purchasing process across the business; and participating in a number of continuous improvement and ERP system projects.

Worked in a range of functional areas and diverse businesses within the Cobham Group, in a structured placement based programme. Undertook 6-month placements in roles with gradually increasing responsibility, including: - Business relocation and integration project management support. - Operations Analyst supporting Vice President of Operations and establishing a functional competency development programme for the Group. - Process Engineering for aerospace antennas, making mechanical design improvements and using root cause analysis to solve production problems. - Antenna Design Engineer gaining experience of engineering design processes, software development and application of product lifecycle management. - Divisional Executive Assistant supporting the annual strategic planning review.

One year, postgraduate masters course at the Institute for Manufacturing, part of the Department of Engineering. Comprised a series of taught modules with short industrial consultancy projects and a research dissertation. Learned manufacturing engineering processes, business improvement techniques, team working skills, leadership styles, and presentation of project findings and reports to Senior Management. Included industrial visits to over 40 business and factories across the UK and China

Concentrated on Applied Maths, included independent, investigative computing projects.
