About
Extensive experience in operations management and performance improvement leading company turnarounds and plant startups, shutdowns, moves, acquisition integrations, and consolidations. I am living in Phoenix and typically travel for client work. Services I provide include interim management, operational improvement, due diligence analysis, post-acquisition integration, turnaround, M&A, and exit planning services that enable companies and investors to improve financial outcomes, valuations, and business performance. My areas of expertise include cost reduction, production and inventory control, supply chain management and improving delivery, quality and cycle time using systems, analytics, lean operating systems, and six-sigma methods. Since my background includes the design, implementation, and improvement of information technologies that support operations, engineering, finance, production and supply chain management I will potentially lead and support new IT technology introductions as well. My past projects include design and startup of a modular data center production plant, M&A integration of a printing company, performance improvement in injection and blow-molding plastics plants, consolidation and closure of an electronics Maquiladora, integrating the supply chain and implementing production systems for building the original IRIDIUM constellation of satellites, improvement of production and distribution operations for a producer and importer of packaged foods, and turnaround, expansion, and exit planning for a medical device manufacturing firm. In my role as an advisor I have worked with clients as diverse as Honeywell, TTM, California Olive Ranch, and Ticketmaster to drive production and business process re-designs, restructurings and turnarounds. As an Industrial Engineering Ph.D. I also provide training to industry groups and companies in lean and six-sigma methods and I have taught operations and engineering management courses at Arizona State University.

Vice President of Manufacturing
Phoenix, Arizona Area
Provided executive hands-on leadership for the factory design, production planning, materiel procurement, and steady state operation of the firm’s start-up of modular data center production and delivery. While at IO I designed and implemented the production system that produced over $200MM of data center modules in just 3-1/2 years. Projects included factory setup and 2 factory moves; implementation of an ERP/MRP system for financial reporting, production and procurement planning and execution; implementation of product configuration and quality management systems; and the international expansion of our product and customer footprint from the US to Singapore and the UK. Data-center modules are a revolutionary concept for providing pre-fabricated data center capacity from a world class factory leveraging lean manufacturing, advanced factory systems, and steady-state supply contracts to enable the lowest cost, and most rapid ramp-up of the industry's most reliable data-center operations.
