Delivering RIIO ED1 plan.

Leading Design team prioritising investment for £90m p.a. network capital asset replacement, reinforcement and connection schemes from LV to 33kV.

Responsible for Network Design and issue of maintenance programmes for LV and 11kV Network.

Implementation of SAP plant maintenance and SAP project system for management of electrical network assets.

Design of LV to 132kV networks and implementation of remote control systems onto network.

Reporting to CEO, Responsibile for all electricity network operational work, in the East Midlands Area which serves 1.6m connected customers, via 30,000 substations and 46,000km of lines and cables. Leading over 700 engineering and craft staff working across 5 Distribution Areas covering, safety management, planning, new connections, network reinforcement, fault restoration and repairs, replacement of assets, customer complaint resolution on electricity networks from 230V to 132kV.

Developed and lead new T&D business. Secured £20m, 132kV OHL tower framework with UK Power Networks and two frameworks for 400kV cables and lines for National Grid (~£100m). Developed supply chain including joint venture with Croatian power company and collaborative tier 2 working relationships.

Reporting to Infrastructure Director, Led the Alliance business change programme to prepare Central Networks for a 30% increase in capital investment between 2010 and 2015. Initial 2 years of the role involved setting up two Alliances each with approximately 1200 staff, from both the internal organisation and from the contract partner as a joint management team to provide efficient joined up electrical and civil delivery capability. The programme involved developing strategy, structures, new contracts processes and implementing the cultural change across the delivery business. Subsequently operated the West Alliance leading 800 direct staff and 400 contractors as part of a joint Alliance management team to carry out the planned capital and maintenance work on the Central Networks West Electricity Distribution Network to meet the agreed Regulatory (Ofgem) delivery targets, safety, reliability and customer service.

Operational Manager leading 230 staff to build overhead lines, install cables and substations, inspect and maintain the network and to restore and repair faults.
