Primary responsibility was to replace a declining fermentation business in non-food applications with a the high growth, high profitability food business. Bio Ingredients division encompassed functional protein and flavor enhancement as well as salt replacement in food systems utilizing high prime yeast extracts and hydrolyzed vegetable proteins.

Directed all aspects of new product sales in US and Canada markets. Specific activities included hiring and training distributors located in the Midwest and West Coast, commissioning research studies on product efficacy, direct sales, budgeting, trade show coordination and strategic planning. Custom Ingredients is a division of Grande Cheese Company producing functional whey proteins, nutritional and hydrolyzed whey proteins, whey protein concentrates (WPC) whey protein isolates (WPI), Maillard Reaction-based dairy flavors and protein-based yogurt flavors.

Position was created to increase sales to the food industry and to better service Red Arrow's food customers. Challenges included defining the position and customer's needs, developing a marketing plan, and servicing about 50 key accounts. Also served as Product Manager for new Maillard Reaction browning agent.
