A demanding position as part of the 2011 Census, I dealt with and interviewed the public on a daily basis. Part of my leadership role required delegating assignments to team members in order to reach compliance tolerance level through the proprietary field management software.

As a small town/community newspaper, I was assigned to cover a variety of local events from the community angle. The position required a great deal of copy editing and revising documents and inserts from outside sources such as community calendars and letters to the editor. In addition to reporting and copy editing I performed various clerical and administrative functions including processing inbound mail/fax/e-mail.

Acting as a freelance reporter for Xtra, my articles appeared both online and in the print edition of Xtra. A self-directed position that enabled me to pursue a variety of stories as well as participate in team coverage and editorial meetings.

Responsible for running editorial meetings and delegating assignments to writers and editors, formatting and editing high volumes of copy and organizing layout for print and online editions.
