Assist in planning and conducting operational, financial, and compliance audits, providing technical expertise on engineering aspects, to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and determine compliance with selected policies, procedures, and regulations. Assist in making written recommendations to management to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness of the control systems within the processes reviewed. Assist in execution of consulting engagements and performing special investigations as assigned.

I was attached to the Compliance and Projects units under Technical Regulation department and the following is some of the practical work I did; • Review of Installation permit applications and scheduling of candidates for interviews • Managing the Installation permits database • Review of Technical losses data submittals for distributors • Review of quarterly compliance data submittals for distributors • Review of the monthly system summary data submittals from the system operator • Review of generation license applications • Compilation of project status reports for ongoing projects • Review of feasibility study reports

I was attached to the Maintenance section under the Operations and Maintenance department and the following is some of the practical work I did; • Testing transformer oil using the oil testing Megger at the laboratory • Earth resistance test of the Lugogo substation using an Earth Megger • Observation of live line maintenance of the 132kV Soroti- Lira line as the team changed rotten cross-arms and leg poles. • Replacing a capacitor cell which had exploded at Namanve substation • Changing the oil in the diverter switch compartment of the Tap changers for the 66k/33kV and 66k/11kV transformers at Lugazi substation • Sealing the LV bushing on the 132k/33kV transformer at Mutundwe substation which had a leakage • Repairing faulty Isolators at Kampala-North substation that had failed to operate remotely • Carrying insulation resistance, pressure, voltage ratio and short-circuit tests on a distribution transformer at the laboratory
