I am a passionate business entrepreneur based north of Brisbane, Australia. I love coming up with new ideas that will benefit my customers and staff, and then I work day and night to make the project happen. I am interested in all things e-commerce and strive to find quicker, better and more profitable ways to do things that provide value to my customers and staff. In my past life, after completing my apprenticeship, I started Mr A Electrics, a domestic electrical contracting business. My wife and I started the business from scratch, and towards the end of 2018, we signed off on approximately 15 apprentices. (one of our proudest achievements) We ran eight work vehicles and 15 staff and built a systematised business with the help of Simpro software and a load of hard work. During this time, in 2000, my wife and I moved to QLD, and we also started a lighting store and showroom. We ran this business side by side with the electrical contracting business. Our systematised electrical contracting business allowed me to work on the company and not in it. This created an opportunity for me to scratch an itch and find a way to better serve electrical businesses like mine to purchase products online at great transparent prices and save time waiting at the suppliers. "Save Time and Money at Sparky Direct". Online e-commerce was not a thing in 2005 when we started Sparky Direct, and you could not buy off-the-shelf shopping carts like today - you had to design the shopping cart and have a coder develop the platform and implement it. This started my love for e-commerce, learning all the tasks required to run a successful online store from the ground up, warts and all. It has been a hard slog. However, I still have a passion for working day and night, and I love steadily improving the site on both the front and back end every day. I am an avid learner and love listening to business e-commerce podcasts and talking to my mentors about what I have learned and want to implement next. Spark Direct is going through a massive growth period. We have moved into our new purpose-built massive warehouse and business in booming. The new warehouse allows us to diversify into new product ranges and drive further innovation, improvements and sales.
