Currently heading the Port Management Association of Eastern and Southern Africa (PMAESA) as Secretary General. My appointment to lead the Association was endorsed by the PMAESA Board of Directors in 2018. Prior to taking the helm at the Secretariat, I held positions on the PMAESA Board and provided technical oversight in the Port Operations, Marine Protection, Safety and Security Committee. My experience in the maritime and ports sector arises from my tenure as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA) from 2004 to 2018 on secondment from the Seychelles Defense Forces (SDF). At SPA I worked closely with the Blue Economy Department established by the Government of Seychelles in 2015. This cooperation included coordination, consolidation and prioritization of national initiatives geared towards harnessing opportunities and resources from the oceans in a sustainable manner. My service in the SDF intersected with the development of the Seychelles Coast Guard (SCG) which complemented the broader maritime security deployment around the Indian Ocean waters off the Seychelles archipelago.

Some of my notable achievements include overseeing the development of the PMAESA Strategic Plan 2024 – 2028; Enhanced cooperation with members; Mobilizing strategic partners to join the Association; Better collaboration with the Indian Ocean Commission (COI); Developing tools to mainstream strategies supporting Green Port initiatives in collaboration with the Nairobi Convention Secretariat; Enhanced partnership with development partners such as the African Development Bank (AfDB); Supporting the development of the Cruise Africa Strategy; Keen on supporting initiatives in Kenya, I facilitated partnerships with Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA), The Maritime Organization for Eastern, Southern and Northern Africa (MOESNA) and The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI). These engagements culminated in convening the 1st African Maritime Cabotage and Blue Economy Conference (AMCBEC) with support from the State Department for Shipping and Maritime Affairs (Kenya) not forgetting the unwavering support from our member the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in Mombasa in 2023.
