As Day Camp Administrator I oversaw 5 day camp sessions with groups of 12 campers at a time. Three of these sessions ran for 8 hours a day, the second of which went concurrently with an overnight group. I communicated with parents about daily progress, checked campers in and out during drop-off and pick-up, collaborated with program administrators to create and implement daily schedules, oversaw camper goals, planned rewards, and independently ran evening programs for the entire village. In addition to Day Camp, I acted as a Crescent Camp Administrator, collaborating with rest of the Crescent Team to run Cove sessions. After the departure of other village administrators I moved to main camp to assist in running the female village.

I work as a day camp counselor and a group counselor at an overnight camp, which gives me the opportunity to work with the youngest campers during the day, and the overnight campers in the evenings. Camp Starfish fosters the success of campers with social, emotional, behavioral, and learning differences, which gives me an opportunity to work in an a greatly inclusive community where I can help children to work on their individuals skills and goal completion. Some of my daily roles include engaging children during transitions, helping to run activities, working with other counselors and staff to facilitate opportunities for social interactions, and creating a safe environment for the campers.

I supervise second-year residents, monitoring their safety and college policy violations while working to build community within Residence Halls. I promote academic success, social interactions, and participation through passive and interactive educational programming. When situations arise I help students with conflict resolution, acting as a peer mediator and mentor. I also refer students to appropriate resources on campus such as outreach counseling, health services, or the academic center for excellence. I've been trained as a campus safety authority so that I can act as a mandated reporter to campus safety.

As a peer writing tutor, I meet with other students to provide assistance and guidance as they draft, research, and write. I've worked with students on a wide range of assignments from research papers and resumes. While working with individuals, I not only try to help them improve their writing but also to build on their writing skills. I assist students in more than writing, sometimes helping them to improve communication, reading, annotation, and self-editing skills. My appointments sometimes come in the form of one-time meetings, while others are set up to be recurring for an entire semester, giving me opportunities to meet a variety of clients but also to assist someone who needs more support and to help them achieve long-term growth and success. So far, I've used APA, MLA, Chicago, and ASA formats. I find that as I work with students I learn from them and am able to improve my own skills and writing, through assisting them with theirs.
