Web Application Support and Development

As the lead analyst for Integrated Infrastructure Services, I provide guidance, technical expertise, maintenance and support for both existing and planned solutions and processes within the parameters of both the client's needs and the direction set by Corporate IT. Other responsibilities include the planning and implementation of Corporate project management processes into the City's SharePoint and Google environments as well as the lead technical analyst for the implementation of the Corporate Project Management System eBuilder.

Lead senior analyst for the User Profile Project - working with the Project Manager and Business Analysts to evaluate, plan and transition City of Edmonton Departments into the Google Apps for Business products currently being utilized by the City of Edmonton. I am currently leading and executing the transition from Microsoft SharePoint to various Google applications. I work with clients to develop a transition plan, do an evaluation of their functional requirements and assist with selecting the appropriate Google Applications. This role requires extensive knowledge of our current SharePoint platform and it’s functionality as well as in-depth knowledge of Google Apps for Business.

As the lead technical analyst in the IT Project Management Office responsibilities include assisting in providing direction with regards to solutions and process across the IT Project Management Office (PMO) as well as provide technical expertise, maintenance and support for technology solutions and process which have been developed / deployed. Other responsibilities include the planning and implementation of project management processes into the City of Edmonton’s SharePoint environment, currently working with the PMO team to assess their requirements against SharePoint 2010 functionality, document and implement content types, redefine site hierarchy, templates, determine required workflows and reporting as well as assist in bringing current SharePoint presence up to recommended best practices regarding security and site hierarchy.

Currently leading the planning, architecture design and implementation of an upgrade from Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 to SharePoint 2010. This includes enhancement from a two tiered server farm with Extranet capabilities and expanding to a three tier server farm with development and UAT environments. This role also interviews select business units across 6 City of Edmonton departments to assess clients’ workflows and requirements in relation to collaboration, portals, search and business intelligence. Other responsibilities include: • Collaboration with third party SharePoint experts to design a robust, scalable SharePoint 2010 offering, which will improve ease of collaboration and continue to support the growing needs of clients. • Supervise and assign work assignments to project team members • Work with Project Manager and project sponsors to update project progress • Prepared technical and end user documentation. • Consulting: As the senior analyst for SharePoint at the City of Edmonton, advise other Systems Analysts on SharePoint troubleshooting and technical support issues, as well as compatibility issues for upgrades to other applications.

Currently working with the City of Edmonton Web Application Support team as the senior technical analyst for SharePoint (MOSS 2007). This position involves working with clients to assess their business requirements and assist them with building a presence in out sharepoint environment, advisor to the SharePoint Super User Group, working with external vendors to ensure any custom development for shareoint meets the development standards/specifications outlined by the IT Branch. This position is also works closely with project teams/support teams as an advisor to any emerging technologies that may integrate with SharePoint.

Currently leading the planning, architecture design and implementation of a major upgrade from Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. This includes enhancement from a single server farm to a 5-server farm with Extranet capabilities and assisted with new Active Directory set up. Assisted in establishing governance and support framework. Gained valuable project experience assisting with project processes, standards and documentation requirements as defined by a formal methodology
