André Aquino is currently the national director for Forest Development at the Brazilian Forest Service, Ministry of Environment and Climate in Brazil. Until June 2023, André acted as Lead Environment Specialist at the World Bank's Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy Global Practice, and worked as Program Leader for Sustainable Development in Indonesia and Timor Leste, covering the sectors of Agriculture, Environment, Social, Urban and Water, based at the World Bank Country Office in Indonesia. Prior to that, he was the Coordinator for Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy for Indonesia. Dynamic, committed Environment Professional highly regarded for over twenty years of progressive experience in designing and implementing innovative environmental protection and restoration programs. Proven track record of managing complex, US$ 50 million+, multi-year projects, using outstanding communication skills to build stakeholder buy-in from diverse groups, including government and civil society.
